dedicated to Ireland!


La mia aventura in cucina alla Irlandese oggi continua! Ho appena preparato questo variegato cake salato alle patate, che ho dedicato all'Irlanda che mi piace tanto!





Cake "Amore Irlandese"
(gluten-free)

ingredienti:
2 grandi patate
150 g piselli surgelati
1 cucchiaio di margarina (vegetale)
1 cucchiaino di sale
1/3 cucchiaino di pepe nero
una spolverata di noce moscata
1/4 cucchiaino di aglio in polvere
1 uovo
pangrattato (gf: pan grati)

Lavate le patate sotto l'acqua corrente e mettetele in un pentolino. Riempite di acqua e mettetele sul fuoco alto. Cuocetele fino a che sono ben cotte. Toglietele dall'acqua e lasciatele raffreddare leggermente.
Lavate il pentolino che avete usato per le patate e riempitelo a meta con acqua. Coprite e portatela a bollore a fuoco alto. A questo punto aggiungete un pizzino di sale e tufatevi dentro i piselli. Cuocete per circa 10 minuti fino a che sono ben cotti. Scolateli e trasferite nel robot da cucina. Senza aggiungere niente altro frullateli fino a riddurli in una puree ben asciutta. Io ho usato il mixer ad immersione.
Accendete il forno a 180°C. Oleate per bene uno stampino di alluminio di 0,5L e cospargete tutto il fondo più le pareti con pangrattato.
Sbucciate le patate e passatele nello schiacciapatate per farli come puree. Aggiungete il sare, luovo, il pepe nero, la noce moscata e mescolate. Fondete la margarina a bagnomaria e aggiungetela al composto di patate. Mescolate per bene. Trasferite questo composto nello stampino precedentemente preparato. Copritelo con il puree di piselli. Con un cucchiaio o un coltello molto attentamente date una leggera mescolata di tutto per distribuire la puree di piselli senza unirla completamente al composto di patate. Cospargete con pangrattato, distribuite dei piccoli pezzettini di margarina dopra ed infornate per circa 35-40 minuti.
Lasciate raffreddare circa 5 minuti nello stampino stesso, poi molto attentamente trasferite il cake sul piatto da portata. Lasciate raffreddare di nuovo per circa 3-4 minuti ed affettatelo.

My savory cake "Ireland"

(gluten-free)

ingredients:
2 large potatoes
150 frozen peas
1 tbsp margarine (soya)
1 tsp salt
1/3 tsp black paper
a dust of nutmeg
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 egg
extra fine bread crumbs for dusting (gf: gluten-free bread crumbs)

Wash the potatoes and place them into a deep saucepan. Fill with water and pour over high heat. Cook until the potatoes are very soft. Dry them and place into a plate to cool.
Wash the saucepan and fill it about half full with water. Pour over high heat. When it start to boil add the peas and salt. Cook about 10 minutes until the peas are soft. Dry them and transfer into the food processor. Blend until it's reduced into a purea consistency.
Turn on the oven to 350°F. Lightly oil a square or round baking pan. Sprinkle the entire bottom evenly the sides of the pan with extra fine bread crumbs.
Mush the potatoes into a large mixing bowl. Add the egg, the salt, the black paper, the nutmeg and the garlic powder, stir well. Melt the butter into a double boiler and add it to the potato mixture. Stir well with a wooden spoon.
Drop batter into the prepared baking pan. Drop on the pea purea and swirl gently with a spoon or knife. Sprinkle well with bread crumbs, arrange some margarine pieces over the top and bake about 35-40 minutes.
Without removeing the cake from the pan allow to cool about 5 minutes. Then, very carefuly transfer into a serving dish. Allow to cool 3-4 more minutes and slice.
